Disaster Management: Amit Shah Introduces New Bill in Parliament


New Delhi, 4 December (H.S.): Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to introduce the Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in Lok Sabha today.

The proposed amendment seeks to clarify the roles and responsibilities of authorities at the national and state levels, as well as empower them to effectively manage disasters. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is also expected to make a statement in Rajya Sabha on the recent developments in India-China relations, which he has described as improving in recent times.

However, Congress MPs have submitted separate adjournment notices in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha today, seeking a discussion on the ongoing agrarian crisis in the country. The winter session of Parliament, which began on November 25, will continue till December 20.

As the session moves forward, updates on various topics and issues being discussed in Parliament will be provided live. In other news, Congress MP Manish Tewari has condemned the recent incident of a bullet being fired at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest religious organization for Sikhs.

He has called for an investigation to be conducted and action to be taken against those responsible for the attack.
