Lakhimpur (Assam), 30 December (HS): The 30th State Convention of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad was held on 27, 28 and 29 December at Manikanchan Samanwaya kshetra (AT Sports Ground) in Lakhimpur town. About 1500 students from all over Assam participated in this convention.
Various issues and social topics of Assam and India were discussed in this state convention held in Lakhimpur, the birthplace of the great Sant Madhavdev. Education Minister of Assam Government Ronoj Pegu, National General Secretary of ABVP Dr. Birendra Singh Solanki, founder of 'Role Model Session' Akash Jyoti Goswami and many other prominent persons participated in this program.
Cultural programs, exhibitions, open sessions, cultural processions etc. were organized in the program. Apart from this, three resolutions were passed in this convention on the educational, social and self-reliance of Assam.
As the cultural procession passed through the middle of Lakhimpur town, local people and organizations welcomed it warmly by decorating it with flowers. On behalf of ABVP Assam State, State Secretary Harold Mohan thanked the people of Lakhimpur who helped in making this convention a success.
