Prayagraj MP Ujjwal Raman Singh meets farmers

Prayagraj,

2 January (H.S.): Prayagraj MP Ujjwal Raman Singh termed the PM Fasal Yojana as

paper work and said that when DAP is required at the time of sowing, it is

missing from the co-operative society and when farmers need to apply urea to

the standing crop, it is not available to them from the society.

They are

forced to buy bad and fake fertilizers from the black market. He said that

farmers get sticks instead of fertilizers and the government makes one

announcement after another to garner praise.

MP

Representative Vinay Kushwaha said that during his frequent visits to

Jamunapar, farmers informed that paddy crop was affected by Jorai due to which

50 pc production was affected, on which MP Ujjwal Raman Singh, after talking to

higher officials, asked the government to help the farmers. He asked authorities

to come forward and demanded compensation via farmers insurance.

However, the

officials cited the rule that crop insurance does not provide compensation

unless there is a loss of 40 percent of the crop and the interesting thing is

that the authorities never show a loss of more than 25-30 percent, so they fail

to meet the eligibility criteria for compensation.

Ujjwal allegedly often asks

farmers whether they have got the benefit of farmer insurance, but no one has

told him that they have ever got any benefit.

The

representative said that even after increasing the price by Rs 175 per bag,

farmers cannot buy, due to unavailability. They should get the fertilizer on

time, instead of being beaten with sticks. The government is unable to provide

the fertilizer but they aim to garner praise via false assurances.

MP Ujjwal

Raman Singh said that the PM Fasal Bima Yojana is only on paper. It is shown

that industrialists are benefited through fertilizer subsidy and crop

insurance, but farmers do not get any benefit from these schemes.
