Hooghly, 02 January (HS): At least eight people were injured in a road accident that took place at Shiyakhala area under Haripal police station in Hooghly district on Thursday. It is learnt that in Cinematalla area of Shiakhala a vehicle carrying a dead body to Kalibabu crematorium of Serampore lost control and hit the wall of a roadside shop and entered the shop. Eight people are reported to be injured in this incident. The injured have been admitted to a local nursing home. One injured has been shifted to Kolkata as his condition is critical. On information, the police reached the spot and made arrangements to remove the vehicle. Arrangements have also been made to send the body for cremation.
