Guwahati, 04 January (HS): Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister Ashok Singhal reviewed the organizational structure of the Health Directorate (Family Welfare) in a meeting held in the meeting room of his office at Janata Bhawan on Saturday. Various branches under the department like National Health Mission, Assam; Directorate of AYUSH, Directorate of Health etc. reviewed budget allocation and expenditure, budget proposals and other important functions. He also directed the department to analyze the organizational structure of each directorate under the department, the number of authorized and posted officers and employees, their responsibilities and duties etc. and prepare proposals for restructuring such organizational structure as per workforce requirements.

The important activities of the Health Directorate (Family Welfare) and AYUSH Directorate were also discussed in the meeting. He directed the Health Directorate (Family Welfare) to cover 100 percent target group under universal immunization as a priority and ensure 100 percent registration of pregnant women and children. In this regard, special emphasis was laid on making all the information related to them available impartially through U-WIN portal.

He also stressed on covering more districts through Japanese Encephalitis vaccination in the state. While reviewing the Directorate of AYUSH and National AYUSH Mission, he directed the AYUSH Director to start a pilot project of yoga training and awareness in at least 100 AYUSH temples in the state. Top officials of the Health and Family Welfare Department were present in the meeting.
