Kolkata, 20 December (H.S.): In Operation Praghat, Assam Police contacted the state police three days ago. After that, Abbas Ali and Minarul Sheikh were arrested from Hariharpara in Murshidabad after conducting a search. Several mobile phones, SIM cards and documents were seized from them. It was clearly revealed that the two were planning to create a terrorist module. The two were working to brainwash the new generation. Such sensational information was given by ADG (South Bengal) Supratim Sarkar at a press conference on Friday.
Recently, the STF of Assam Police came to know through secret sources that several militants had entered India from the Bangladesh to carry out sabotage. After that, 'Operation Praghat' was started. The STF of Assam Police conducted raids in Bengal, Kerala and Assam. Several militants were caught. According to the STF of Assam Police, the militants entered India from Bangladesh on the orders of Jasimuddin Rahmani, the chief of Ansarullah Bangla, who was recently released from jail.
Meanwhile, Assam Police arrested a man named Shad Radi. He was the mastermind behind the expansion of JMB's organization and new recruitment in the area. The arrested militant was planning to create sleeper cells in Assam and Bengal. He travelled to Bengal and Kerala on JMB assignments. It is learnt that after questioning him, the two were found in Hariharpara. Abbas Ali, a resident of Nishchintapur in Hariharpara, and Minarul Sheikh, a resident of Rukunpur, were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of being militants. It is learnt that Abbas Ali had opened a madrasa in Baruipara area. Abbas taught the students of the area alone there. Minarul was adept at repairing tractors, water taps and various vehicles. Various suspicious documents have been seized from them.
