Bhubaneswar,14 November (H.S.):The Odisha government has announced the establishment of an Inter-Ministerial Committee aimed at addressing and resolving ongoing inter-state disputes. This decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan.
The meeting involved extensive discussions on various contentious issues between Odisha and its neighbouring states, focusing on disputes concerning Polavaram, Vansadhara, Mahanadi, and Kotia, among others. The committee will be responsible for developing a unified strategy to tackle these issues through dialogue and legal channels, ensuring the protection of the state's interests.
The meeting included participation from key figures, such as Law, Public Works, and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Advocate General Pitambar Acharya, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, and Principal Secretary of Law Manas Ranjan Barik.
