Guwahati, 13 November (HS): Voting for by-elections in Dhalai, Sidli, Bongaigaon, Bihali and Samaguri assembly constituencies of Assam started on Wednesday. Voting has started at 7 am and will continue till 5 pm.

The number of voters in the five constituencies are 1,96,772 in Dholai (AC), 2,17,183 in Sidli (ST), 1,82,354 in Bongaigaon, 1,32,300 in Bihali and 1,80,448 in Samaguri. Thus there are a total of 9,09,057 voters. There are 524 service voters in Dholai, 630 in Sidli, 267 in Samaguri, 1,054 in Bongaigaon and 142 in Bihali. Thus, there are a total of 2,617 service voters.

There are 208 polling stations in Dholai, 273 in Sidli, 246 in Bangaigaon, 154 in Bihali and 197 in Samguri. Thus, there are a total of 1078 polling stations.

There are 1,125 disabled voters in Dholai. Whereas, there are a total of 4,197 disabled voters, including 1,770 in Sidli, 474 in Bangaigaon, 149 in Bihali and 679 in Samguri.

There are 683 senior citizens (voters above 85 years of age) in Dholai, 1,025 in Sidli, 474 in Bangaigaon, 488 in Bihali and 1,118 in Samguri. That is, there are a total of 3,788 senior citizens.
