Bhubaneswar, 8 October (H.S.)A young woman set herself on fire by pouring kerosene on Monday night in the Brahampur Sadar police station area of Odisha’s Ganjam district. She died on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment. The incident of self-immolation occurred in the Kukudakhandi block of Ganjam district.

The woman, named Rani Pradhan, ignited herself in front of a chicken shop. Locals who witnessed the event rescued her and rushed her to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

While the police have registered a case regarding the incident, the exact reason for her actions remains unclear. It is suspected that she may have attempted suicide due to domestic issues.
