Guwahati, 8 October (HS): On the occasion of Durga Puja, the traffic branch of the Guwahati Police Commissioner's Office has changed the traffic rules of Guwahati and has prohibited entry on many routes.

Information given by the Police Commissioner's Office said that with the aim of ensuring the safety of vulnerable road users like children, students, women, senior citizens and especially abled persons on the road and to provide uninterrupted passage to emergency vehicles like ambulances, fire tenders etc., many restrictions have been imposed on the movement of vehicles during the Durga Puja period in the Guwahati city area from October 9 to October 13.

During this time, the movement of vehicles has been banned at many places. During Durga Puja, all cargo vehicles will be allowed to enter the city from 4 am to 12 noon from October 9 to October 13.

Entry will be prohibited under many police station areas during Durga Puja (these restrictions will be in force from 2 pm to 2 am during Durga Puja). Dr. RP Road of Dispur police station area will be one-way from Ganesh temple towards Ganeshguri flyover. No vehicle will be allowed to enter from Zoo Road (below Ganeshguri flyover) towards Ganesh temple, Dispur. No vehicle will be allowed to enter from Service Road (near Ganeshguri Wholesale Market) towards RP Road, Zoo Road.

At the same time, Peer Azan Fakir Road (Beltala Market Road) of Basishtha police station area will be one-way from Beltola Tiniali towards Jaynagar Chariali. At the same time, no vehicle will be allowed to enter from Jaynagar Chariali towards Beltala Tiniali.

Apart from these, Bishnu Rabha Path will be one-way from Beltala Tiniali towards Bhetapara Chariali. No vehicle will be allowed to enter from Bhetapara Tiniali towards Beltala Tiniali through Bishnu Rabha Path. No vehicle will be allowed to enter Dr BN Saikia Road from Beltala Tiniali towards Bashishtha Chariali.

At the same time, AG Office Bylane will be one-way from the AG Office towards Saurav Nagar and Tripura Gali. No vehicle will be allowed to enter from Tripura Gali and Saurav Nagar. Parking of vehicles will be allowed on one side of Tripura Gali. Entry of vehicles from Bashishtha Chariali towards Beltala Tiniali is prohibited.

Also, no vehicle will be allowed to enter from Fatasil Chariali, Railway Gate No. 6, 7, 8 and Sati Jayamati Road towards Kumarpara Panchali of Bharalumukh police station area. No vehicle will be allowed to enter from Chabipul towards Bishnupur and Fatasil Chariali. One-way movement of vehicles will be allowed from Fatasil Chariali to Chabipul.

At the same time, no vehicle will be allowed to enter from RK Choudhary Road to KRC Road. Parking of vehicles will not be allowed on AT Road (from Aathgaon Flyover to Bharalumukh) and Dinesh Goswami Road (between Bharalumukh to Kalipur) and RKC Road (Gate No. 9 to Fatasil Chariali). No vehicle will be allowed to enter from the sluice gate towards Pragjyotish College on JP Agrawala Road. No vehicle will be allowed to enter from Bishnupur Bridge towards Cycle Factory.

At the same time, no vehicle will be allowed to enter from Haryana Bhawan towards Fatasil Chariali, Kumarpara Panchali. No vehicle will be allowed to enter from Fatasil Chariali towards Kumarpara Panchali.

Apart from these, there will be a ban on the movement of vehicles on AT Road in Jalukbari police station area. No cargo vehicle will be allowed to move towards Jalukbari Rotary from Paltanbazar, Panbazar, Fatasil and Bharalumukh. The same restriction will be in place from Sadilapur towards Pandu Ghat.

Also, there will be a ban on the vehicular movement in the Pandu area. Adabari Tiniali to Pandu Ghat, i.e. Pandu Port Road, will be one-way for light vehicles, 3 wheelers and 2 wheelers. Vehicles coming from Pandu Ghat towards Adabari will go via Maligaon Chariali. No vehicle will be allowed to move from Maligaon Chariali to Pandu Ghat via Pandu Borbojar Road.

Apart from these, vehicular movement has been banned on the day of immersion. Except for vehicles carrying idols during the immersion of Maa Durga idol, no other vehicle will be allowed to move from Adabari Tiniali towards Pandu Ghat. Only vehicles carrying idols will be allowed to go up to the entry point of the immersion ghat and after that they will return to their original place through Sadilapur No. 6 Colony via NH-27.

No vehicle will go from MS Road to the left i.e. HB Road (Shani Mandir) and straight i.e. Gate No. 4 in Panbazar police station area. No vehicle will be allowed to enter Hatigarh Chariali from Anuradha Point of Chandmari and Geetanagar police station. Vehicles will be allowed to enter only from Hatigarh Chariali. No vehicle will be allowed to enter from Bandana Point to Refinery Gate via SBI Gali in Noonmati police station area.

At the same time, no vehicle will be allowed to ply on FC Road between High Court Point (War Memorial) to Latasil Chariali in Latasil police station area.

During this period, several restrictions have also been imposed on the movement of city buses also.
