Cachar (Assam), 8 October (HS): Cachar district headquarters police conducted an operation based on secret input and seized a truck carrying fertilizer (urea) illegally in large quantities. At the same time, the police have arrested two people in this case. Police said on Tuesday that acting on a reliable source, a special check post was set up on Ghunghur bypass on the information of illegal transportation of fertilizer towards Mizoram near Silchar bypass. During investigation, the truck (AS- 01DD- 0530) going towards Mizoram was stopped.

During interrogation, the driver showed the vehicle documents and road challan of 500 bags of pig feed. But, during careful inspection, the police team recovered 550 bags of yellow colored urea fertilizer. During investigation, it was found that the fertilizer was being transported illegally. Two people including the driver were arrested in this regard.

The accused told the police that the said consignment was loaded from the warehouse. The fertilizer was being transported to Mizoram. The arrested accused have been identified as Radhakant Namasudra (21) and Situ Biswas (21). Police have registered an FIR in this regard and are interrogating the two arrested accused at Kalain police station accordingly.
