Lucknow, 08 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath routinely pays tribute to former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar,
describing him as a committed socialist, a devoted parliamentarian (Young
Turk), and a leader who championed the interests of the poor and farmers. Both
politicians have deep roots in Uttar Pradesh's eastern regions. Yogi Adityanath
frequently pays honor to the former Prime Minister on his birth and death
anniversaries, emphasizing his simplicity, nationalist ideals, and his long
countrywide padayatra (foot march) from Kanyakumari to Rajghat.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath penned a post on X, which
reads as follows: “On the death anniversary of Jananayak, former Prime Minister
Chandrashekhar Ji, humble tribute. From the streets to the halls of Parliament,
he remained the voice of the neglected, the suffering, and the deprived. His
simplicity, ideological steadfastness, and sensitivity toward the last person
in society continue to guide the nation's democracy even today.”
