Varanasi/Lucknow, 08 July (HS): Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath inaugurated the programs of the Basic and Secondary Education

Department at Deendayal Hastkala Sankul, Varanasi on Wednesday. On this

occasion, he launched the 'Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme',

which provides health security to 12 lakh teachers/non-teaching staff and their

dependents. Also, transferred Rs 1,200 per student through DBT to the accounts

of their parents for uniforms, shoes, socks, sweaters, school bags and

stationery for 1.10 crore students.

In the programme, an MoU was executed with the State Bank of

India to provide social security cover to 10 lakh teachers and contract workers

and the Principals/Headmasters of clean and green schools selected at the

national level were honoured.

On this occasion, Minister of State for Basic Education

(Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh said, Today, from the sacred land of

Kashi, where spirituality and knowledge complement each other and pave the way

for humanity, our government has begun a new chapter in the welfare of

teachers. Knowledge is the light that illuminates the path of the individual,

society, and nation. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister

Yogi Adityanath, the government believes that teachers do not merely teach

textbooks, but shape the nation's future. Today's teachers are instilling

values, discipline, self-confidence, a sense of duty, and patriotism in

children. Therefore, our government has resolved to honor the good work of

teachers and address their concerns.

Minister Sandeep Singh said that for a long time, the

teacher families had been demanding cashless medical facilities. Today, that

auspicious moment has arrived. The Chief Minister has launched the Chief

Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme. This is not just a scheme, but

a government support for millions of teachers and their families. 1.2 million

people from the basic and secondary education families will benefit from it. He

said that only when teachers are free from worries, they will be able to seamlessly

shape the future of their children. Now, no teacher will have to worry about

treatment.

An important MoU has been signed between the Basic Education

Department and the State Bank of India to provide comprehensive social security

to teachers and contract workers. This is not limited to life insurance alone.

It will provide group term life insurance, personal accident insurance,

personal disability cover, and air accident cover. Additionally, provisions

have been made for assistance for the education of teachers' children and

add-on cover for their daughters' marriages. The Uttar Pradesh government will

stand by you in case of any untoward incident.

Sandeep Singh said that under the guidance of Prime Minister

Narendra Modi, the DBT system is eliminating middlemen and delivering benefits

directly to beneficiaries. Today, the Chief Minister transferred Rs. 1,200 to

the accounts of the parents of 11 million children. This will enable parents to

arrange for uniforms, shoes, socks, stationery, bags, and sweaters.

He said that under the Government of India's 'Clean and

Green School Scheme', 12 schools in Uttar Pradesh have received the 'Clean

School Award' at the national level. Before 2017, it was beyond our imagination

that council schools would be awarded at the national level. In 2017, the

dropout rate was 15%, today in 2026, it has come down to less than 3%. We have

connected every child with education. All Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas for

girls have been upgraded to 12th standard. New Balika Vidyalayas will be built

in blocks where there are no KGBVs.
