
Jalna, 08 July (HS): In an effort to improve agricultural yield and adopt
sustainable practices Jalna district administration signed an MoU (Memorandum
of Understanding) with the Global Development Trust. Under the agreement about
3,000 farmers in the district will trained in sericulture. The financial,
technical and training support will be provided to the farmers. The use of
modern technology in sericulture is expected to rise income of farmers.
Farmers will be provided financial support
through AU Small Finance Bank under Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivani Yojana.
Sericulture is expected to become a strong industry with the change in approach
of the farmers towards stable rural industry.
Jalna District Collector Ashima Mittal,
Founder of Golbal development Trust Mayank Gandhi were present during signing
of the MoU.
The Trust has extended its services to
more than 34,000 farmers from over 5,000 villages.
