Dibrugarh, 08 July (HS): The mighty Brahmaputra has unleashed severe erosion at Matiakhana in Tingkhang, Dibrugarh district, washing away nearly 70 metres of land within a short span.

The rapid riverbank erosion has triggered panic among local residents, who fear further loss of land and property. In response to the worsening situation, the Water Resources Department has launched emergency anti-erosion measures, with restoration and protection work continuing throughout the night to contain the damage.-----------
