New Delhi, 20 July (H.S.): The Opposition on Monday created a ruckus in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on the first day of Parliament’s Monsoon Session, demanding discussions on issues including the NEET-UG paper leak controversy and the alleged theft of donations at the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Due to continuous disruptions and sloganeering, proceedings in both Houses were adjourned until 12 noon shortly after they began.

In the Rajya Sabha, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge raised the NEET-UG paper leak issue and alleged that the voices of students gathered at Jantar Mantar to press for their demands were being suppressed. He claimed that students had faced police action and demanded a discussion on the matter in the House.

Amid protests by Opposition members, the Chair adjourned the Rajya Sabha proceedings until 12 noon.

Meanwhile, in the Lok Sabha, Opposition MPs also raised slogans demanding discussions on the NEET-UG paper leak, the alleged theft of donations at the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya and other issues. Several MPs entered the House carrying posters and banners.

Due to persistent disruptions, the Lok Sabha could function for only around 12 minutes, following which Speaker Om Birla adjourned the proceedings until 12 noon.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament will continue until August 13, with a total of 19 sittings scheduled during the period. The government is preparing to pass several key legislations during the session, including the Income Tax Amendment Bill, the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill and the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, along with other important bills.
