
New Delhi, 22 June (H.S.): Ghadir Nezami, Deputy Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, arrived in New Delhi on Monday to participate in the meeting of the National Security Advisers and Heads of Security Agencies of the BRICS countries.
The Embassy of Iran in India said in a post on social media platform X that during his visit, Ghadir Nezami will participate in various special sessions and hold meetings with officials from participating countries to discuss security issues and multilateral cooperation.
According to the Embassy, the meeting will focus on key issues including counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, energy security, and multilateral cooperation. Nezami is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with officials from the participating countries. The objective of the meeting is to further strengthen cooperation among member nations on security-related matters.
Notably, the 16th Meeting of the BRICS National Security Advisers and High Representatives on National Security is being held in New Delhi on June 22 and 23.
The two-day meeting, chaired by India's National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, is expected to feature extensive discussions on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, terrorism, and other non-traditional security challenges. The meeting forms part of the preparations for the BRICS Summit scheduled to be held in September 2026, which will be attended by Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and the expanded BRICS member countries.
