
New Delhi, 10 June (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received congratulatory messages and best wishes from President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union ministers and several chief ministers after becoming the longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister in India’s history, having continuously held office for 4,399 days.
President Droupadi Murmu, in a message posted on social media platform X on Wednesday, congratulated the Prime Minister and described the achievement as a testament to the unwavering faith and trust reposed in his leadership by the people of India. She said that under the Modi government, the country has witnessed significant progress in governance, economic resilience and social transformation. The President noted that various welfare initiatives have sought to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in society. She specifically highlighted the PM-JANMAN programme and the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan as important initiatives aimed at the upliftment of tribal communities.
Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan said the milestone represented not merely the length of a tenure but a transformative period in India’s history. He stated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has made remarkable progress in economic growth, infrastructure development, technological advancement, social empowerment and global standing. Drawing a historical comparison, he remarked that just as Abraham Lincoln is remembered for advancing human dignity and ending slavery, Prime Minister Modi would be remembered for helping lift more than 250 million people out of extreme poverty through inclusive development and for restoring hope, opportunity and dignity to millions of families.
The Vice President further said that at a defining moment in history, Prime Minister Modi infused new confidence into India’s capabilities and aspirations through visionary leadership, tireless service and an unwavering commitment to the principle of “Nation First.” He described Modi as a true statesman of contemporary India and extended his best wishes for continued service to the nation as India advances toward the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that Prime Minister Modi’s uninterrupted service of 4,399 days symbolises the strength of Indian democracy and the trust of the people. He noted that during this period, constitutional values, parliamentary democracy and democratic institutions have been further strengthened.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah described the past 12 years under Prime Minister Modi as an era of national self-confidence, cultural renaissance and self-reliance. He said the period witnessed several landmark initiatives, including the construction of the new Parliament building, implementation of new criminal laws, introduction of the National Education Policy, promotion of medical and engineering education in Indian languages, the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the construction of the Ram Temple and measures to strengthen national security.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said Prime Minister Modi had set a new record as India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister. She stated that throughout the past 4,399 days, he provided decisive and strong leadership during several challenging periods faced by the nation. She added that guided by the principles of Antyodaya and “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” the government ensured that the fruits of development reached the last citizen. According to her, the NDA government implemented several bold and transformative reforms, earning the continued trust of the people.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the Prime Minister and said his tenure exemplifies dedicated leadership inspired by the principle of “Nation First.” He observed that over the past 12 years, India has achieved significant accomplishments in development, global leadership and cultural resurgence, moving forward with confidence while taking pride in its heritage.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh described the occasion as a historic milestone marked by 4,399 days of uninterrupted public service, commitment to national interests and dedication to the vision of a developed India. He said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has witnessed a digital revolution, modern infrastructure expansion, extensive welfare initiatives and enhanced global prestige.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated Prime Minister Modi for becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in India’s history while remaining steadfastly committed to the service, security and prosperity of 1.45 billion Indians. He said such moments are rare in history, when a leader becomes not merely the head of a government but a symbol of an era’s collective consciousness. According to him, the honour recognises the dedication, sacrifice, vision and patriotism that have inspired millions to embrace the dream of a developed India.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also extended his congratulations, describing the achievement as a powerful reflection of the trust, respect and overwhelming public support that Prime Minister Modi enjoys among the people of India. He said the milestone underscores the confidence that citizens have placed in his visionary leadership.
Notably, on June 10, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed a historic 12-year tenure as India’s longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister. By serving 4,399 consecutive days in office, he surpassed the previous record of 4,398 days held by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
