New Delhi, May 24 (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party has strongly criticised Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over his statement predicting that the Government of India led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would collapse within the next year. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal described Rahul Gandhi’s remarks as part of a conspiracy aimed at creating instability and chaos in the country.

Piyush Goyal said the statement reflected what he termed the “toolkit agenda” of the Indian National Congress and opposition parties against the nation. He alleged that the Congress had failed to defeat the BJP through democratic means and was therefore attempting to spread instability and disorder across the country. Goyal asserted that Prime Minister Modi could not be removed from the hearts of the people and said the public fully understands the political approach of the Congress party.

Senior BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said Rahul Gandhi should understand that the present government was democratically elected. He stated that Prime Minister Modi has been working tirelessly for the country’s development and noted that Rahul Gandhi had made several major claims in the past that ultimately had no impact. Shahnawaz added that such language was not in the national interest.

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh alleged that certain leaders were working at the behest of foreign forces and spreading propaganda against the country. He further claimed that under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, the Congress party had compromised its ideology and identity.

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s remarks as insignificant, saying that even members of his own party often do not know what he is going to say next.

Notably, during a meeting of the Congress Minority Advisory Committee, Rahul Gandhi reportedly stated that the Modi government would collapse within the next year and claimed that growing economic dissatisfaction in the country would be a major factor behind it. During the meeting, Congress leader Imran Masood also stressed the need to effectively communicate the party’s work and message among Muslim voters.
