Lucknow,
22 May (H.S.): Opposition parties the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj
Party slammed the BJP administration in Uttar Pradesh on Friday over the
state's reported power crisis, demanding prompt action to enhance energy supply
in the public interest. In a post on X in Hindi, Samajwadi Party President
Akhilesh Yadav criticized the administration for the power deficit and alleged
inability to increase generation capacity.
Setting
up new power plants was neither within your (BJP) capabilities nor the realm of
your restricted thinking. At the very least, you could have yelled '3x660
Supercritical Thermal Power Plant'; just hearing it would have provided some
solace to those suffering from the blistering heat, according to Yadav. He said
that under the BJP administration in Uttar Pradesh, only demand and prices for
energy are growing, not supply. He claimed that IBJP control had made UP
miserable.
Mayawati,
the BSP president, also expressed worry over poor power supplies and frequent
interruptions during the hot summer months. In a post on X, she stated that
concerns about inadequate power supply and electrical outages were common in
highly populated states like Uttar Pradesh during the busy summer season. She
stated that the circumstances had made life incredibly tough, particularly for
the poor, middle class, farmers, small business owners, and other workers. Mayawati
stated that people were expressing their outrage, and the topic was still
receiving considerable media coverage.
She
urged the administration to take quick action to alleviate the challenges and
inconveniences that people were experiencing as a result of power outages. She
urged the administration to address the power supply situation by building
additional power plants and taking other required actions in the greater public
interest.
