Guwahati, 22 May (HS): Despite the disruption, the Governor completed his address in the House. After that the speaker announced for a group photography of MLAs with Governor. Shortly after the speech, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya posed for a group photograph along with the newly elected legislators inside the Assembly premises. A memorable moment at the Assam Legislative Assembly with the Governor Acharya, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma and the newly elected members of the Assembly, united for the progress of Assam.

It may be mentioned that just before the photo session a noisy and tense atmosphere prevailed in the Assam Legislative Assembly on Friday during the address of Assam Governor Acharya, as Congress legislators staged a protest over rising prices and walked out of the House.

The Congress MLAs raised slogans against inflation during the Governor’s speech and later boycotted the proceedings by leaving the Assembly hall as a mark of protest. The opposition members alleged that the common people were suffering due to the continuous rise in prices of essential commodities.------------
