No shortage of fuel in
Maharashtra
Mumbai, 22 May (HS): Bharatiya Janata Party Spokesperson Navnath
Ban on Friday said that some hoarders have been making artificial shortage of
petrol and diesel. The State Government will initiate stern action against such
hoarders.
Addressing a press
conference in Mumbai, Ban said Iran-Israel war has led to hike in petrol and
diesel prices globally. China has increased the prices by 25 per cent, while
only 4 per cent hike was made in India. The country has adequate stock of
petrol and diesel. However, artificial shortage is being created, particularly
in Marathwada region, Jalna and Sambhajinagar regions. Those indulging in
creating shortage will be identified and will face stern action. He also
appealed to the people to maintain peace and have patience during this critical
period the nation is facing due to the war.
The efforts are being
made to instigate people against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led
government. However, the people are with Modi and the attempts to instigate
will be an exercise in futility, he added.
Chhagan Bhujbal:
Meanwhile Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal also said that there is no
shortage of petrol and diesel in Maharashtra. Panic buying has increased sale
of diesel by 42 per cent and petrol by 21 per cent. He appealed to the people
not to fall prey to rumours of shortage.
