Pune, 22 May (HS): Pune Rural Police in a joint action

with Pune City Police exposed an inter-state Ganja (Marijuana) smuggling

racket, Police seized 634 kg of marijuana and two four-wheeler vehicles and

other materials from Baramati. The seized material is worth Rs 3 crore.

According

to police, the operation was carried based on information about huge stock of

marijuana in Jalochi area of Baramati. Prakash alias Pakya Mohan Kate, Samadhan

Dharmaraj Gaikwad, Princekumar Monna Sinh, Rahul Kalyan Gore, Vikky alias Pappu

Kamble, Sangram alias Chandan Sinh and Jocky Mazi were arrested in this

connection.

The

accused were involved in marijuana brought from Chhattisgarh and sold in many

places in Maharashtra.

Police

have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act

and are investigating further.
