New Delhi, May 22 (H.S.): The Delhi Government has issued detailed guidelines regarding the upcoming Bakrid festival. Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra extended greetings on the occasion and appealed to citizens to maintain law and order during the celebrations.

In a video message released on Friday, Kapil Mishra explained the guidelines issued by the Delhi Government. According to him, in order to ensure animal welfare and public hygiene, animal sacrifice during Bakrid will be permitted only at authorised and designated locations.

He further stated that the ban on the sacrifice of cows, calves, camels and other prohibited animals must be strictly observed. Criminal cases will be registered against anyone found violating these restrictions.

The Cabinet Minister said that animal sacrifice would not be allowed at public places, including streets, lanes and roads, and legal action would also be taken against violators.

He added that animal blood must not be allowed to flow directly onto roads, into drains or canals, and dumping remains or waste from the sacrifice in open spaces has been completely prohibited.

He further stated that animal sacrifice should only be carried out at legally approved sites and that the buying and selling of animals must also take place only at authorised locations.

Kapil Mishra said that citizens may inform the police or the Delhi Government if they witness any violation of these guidelines.
