Guwahati, 22 May (HS): Former Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president and BJP MLA Bhupen Borah on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Congress leadership in Assam, commenting on the reported disagreement between Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi and party leader Zubair Anam at Rajiv Bhawan.

Referring to the developments inside the Congress office, Bhupen Borah remarked, “When I was there, slogans of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ were raised at Rajiv Bhawan, but now it has turned into ‘Dhar Dhar Maar Maar’.” His comments were aimed at highlighting the growing internal discord within the state Congress unit.

The BJP legislator further mocked the functioning of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, saying, “APCC-R will continue like this.” He also alleged that the condition of the party would remain unchanged as long as “the prince and his advisor” continue to lead and influence the organisation.

Bhupen Borah made the remarks while reacting to the ongoing political drama surrounding the selection of the Leader of the Opposition in the Assam Assembly, intensifying the political war of words between the BJP and the Congress in the state. Bhupen Bora was talking to media today in Assam assembly campus after participating in the ongoing assembly session.---------------
