22 May (HS): Three persons were killed after an allegedly speeding truck
collided with a tractor from behind on the GT Road near Salempur Buddha Vihar,
according to police. According
to reports, one of the three was a motorcycle rider who died on the scene. According
to Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar, Arjun Diwakar, a contractor from
Aligarh's Iglas Police Station area, was returning to his village on a tractor
with his 16-year-old son Ritik and 25-year-old colleague Vishnu. As the tractor
approached Salempur Buddha Vihar on the GT Road in Chhibramau, a speeding
dumper from behind collided with it, forcing it to topple, according to the SP.

Mohan Katheria, an 18-year-old motorcycle rider from Aseh village in Kannauj,
was also hit and killed on the scene, he said. According to the authorities,
Ritik and Vishnu died from their injuries in a hospital, while Diwakar is being
treated in Chhibramau. Kapil Dubey, in-charge of Chhibramau Kotwali, said that
the remains had been submitted for post-mortem. The dumper driver has been
detained and his truck confiscated by the police.
