ICT school coordinators seek better pay

Kolkata, 21 May (H.S.): A delegation of school coordinators under the banner of Bengal ICT School Coordinator Welfare Association gathered outside Srijani Hall on Thursday to raise their demands and seek a meeting with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.

Association member Swarup Pan said the coordinators play a vital role in providing computer education to schoolchildren across West Bengal. However, despite working for several years, they are allegedly not receiving adequate remuneration.

He claimed that the issue had been raised before the government on multiple occasions in the past, but no concrete solution had been reached so far.

The delegation said they are hopeful that the new government will pay attention to their grievances and take steps to resolve the long-pending issue. With that expectation, they arrived at the Chief Minister’s programme venue to place their demands.

According to the association, nearly 5,206 computer teachers are currently working in schools across West Bengal and are receiving only around Rs 10,000 as remuneration, which they described as inadequate considering their responsibilities.

The organisation has demanded a salary hike and a permanent solution to their employment-related issues, urging the government to take prompt action.
