
Bhubaneswar, 21 May (H.S.): The Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Department of the Odisha government has announced the organisation of a Special Appellate Camp Court for the hearing and disposal of pending appeal cases related to the Bhubaneswar Development Authority and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.
According to an official order issued by the department, the Special Appellate Camp Court will be held on May 30, 2026, at 3 PM at Unnati Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
The camp court has been convened to ensure expeditious disposal of appeals arising out of orders issued by the BDA and BMC. Senior officers of the department have been designated as Appellate Authorities to oversee the proceedings and facilitate timely resolution of cases.
The designated Appellate Authorities include Additional Chief Secretary to Government Usha Padhee, Director of Municipal Administration Arindam Dakua, Special Secretary Gangadhar Naik, and Additional Secretaries Sourindra Routray, Binay Kumar Dash, Rabindra Kumar Sahoo, Sahadev Samudia, Subhananda Mohapatra and Satrughna Kar.
To ensure smooth functioning of the camp court proceedings, designated officers and supporting staff have been attached to each Appellate Authority for assistance in case management and related administrative work.
The department has instructed the assisting officials to collect all relevant records and documents from the Town Planning (TP) Section well in advance to facilitate proper preparation and speedy disposal of appeal cases during the camp court proceedings.
The initiative is aimed at streamlining the appellate process and ensuring faster resolution of urban development and municipal-related disputes pending before the department.
