
Guwahati, 07 April (HS): A devastating fire broke out in Anuradha Railway Colony at Bamunimaidam in the city on last late night, triggering panic in the area. According to initial reports, the fire was caused by a cylinder explosion, which quickly spread and took a massive form.
Sources suspect that nearly seven LPG cylinders exploded simultaneously, intensifying the blaze. As a result, around 50 to 60 houses were completely gutted, leaving several families homeless.
On receiving information, multiple fire tenders rushed to the spot and are engaged in efforts to bring the fire under control. A chaotic situation prevails in the railway colony following the incident.
Reports also indicate that several people have sustained injuries in the fire and have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.-----------
