
Kolkata, 07 April (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday paid tribute to world-renowned sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar on his birth anniversary through a post on social media platform X.
In her message, she said that Pandit Ravi Shankar was not only a great musician but also a significant representative of Bengal’s cultural legacy during the renaissance period. She described him as the “pride of Bengal and Bengalis” and offered her respectful homage.
The Chief Minister further stated that the musical brilliance of Pandit Ravi Shankar gave Indian classical music a new global identity.
