Thiruvananthapuram, 07 April (H.S.):The high-decibel campaign for the Kerala Assembly elections will culminate today, bringing an end to three weeks of intense political activity across the state. Candidates, party workers, and senior leaders are set to fan out across constituencies to energise voters in a last push before the campaign deadline.
With rallies, roadshows, and public meetings scheduled in multiple locations, all major political fronts are aiming to consolidate support and influence undecided voters. This election cycle has been marked by the active involvement of national leaders, who have remained visible on the campaign trail until the very last day, adding to the intensity of the contest.
As per election regulations, tomorrow will be observed as a silent campaign day, allowing voters time for reflection. Polling is scheduled for the following day, when the electorate across Kerala will head to the booths to decide the state’s political future.
The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) has expressed confidence in securing a renewed mandate, banking heavily on its governance record and development initiatives. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan recently released the government’s progress report, highlighting achievements and welfare measures implemented over the past term. Despite controversies such as the Wayanad disaster relief fund allocation and the Perambra announcement row surfacing in the final days, the LDF maintains that its grassroots support remains intact.
On the other hand, the United Democratic Front (UDF) is optimistic about capitalising on perceived anti-incumbency sentiments and contentious issues like the Sabarimala debate. The opposition alliance believes the prevailing public mood could favour a shift in power.
Meanwhile, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is hopeful of making electoral inroads, expressing strong confidence in opening its account in the state assembly this time.
With stakes high and momentum peaking, Kerala now stands poised for a decisive electoral verdict.
