
Howrah, 24 April (H.S.): A shocking murder case has come to light from Bally in West Bengal’s Howrah district, where a homoeopathy doctor was allegedly killed by his domestic help inside his residence. The accused later surrendered at the police station.
The deceased has been identified as Ramakrishna Chalaki, who lived in a multi-storey residential building near GT Road in Bally. According to reports, he was attacked with a sharp weapon on Thursday evening, leading to his death.
The police said that soon after the incident, the accused domestic help went to Bally Police Station, confessed to the crime, and surrendered. She was subsequently arrested, and an investigation into the case has been initiated. The accused was produced before a Howrah court on Friday. She remained unresponsive to media queries while being escorted out of the court premises.
Family members of the deceased have made serious allegations against the accused. The victim’s elder brother stated that their family resides in Dankuni, while Ramakrishna Chalaki lived in Bally with his son due to work commitments. His wife did not stay with him. The domestic help had been working at his residence for about one and a half years. The brother further alleged that she had been blackmailing the doctor for a long time.
The incident has raised several questions, and multiple angles are being probed by the police. Investigators are also examining whether there was any extramarital relationship between the accused and the victim. The exact motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
