Guwahati, 24 April (HS): Assam Advocate General Devajit Lon Saikia on Friday stated that Congress leader Pawan Khera could be arrested at any moment following the rejection of his anticipatory bail plea by the Gauhati High Court.
The High Court denied Khera’s plea, observing that the case involves allegations of fraud and forgery. The court’s ruling has paved the way for possible legal action, including arrest, in connection with the case registered against him.
According to the prosecution, Khera had allegedly spread misinformation using purported fake passport details of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma. The matter has been treated as a serious case involving deception and fabrication of documents, leading to the present legal proceedings.-----------
