Panchayati Raj Day, the villages of Uttar Pradesh witnessed a vibrant
manifestation of democracy. On this occasion, a wide range of programs were
organized in various districts and panchayats across the state. Through these
events, the message of rural development, public participation, and
strengthening democratic values was effectively disseminated. Through these
programmes, the spirit of participatory and accountable governance was further
strengthened at the Panchayat level.
In programs held at the district level, village heads and Panchayat assistants
were honored for their outstanding work. During these events, the contributions
of Panchayat representatives and staff were appreciated and they were encouraged
to perform more effectively and with higher quality in the future. Under these
programmes organised in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of
Panchayati Raj, Government of India, special emphasis was laid on review of
progress under Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI), localisation of Sustainable
Development Goals, women empowerment and increasing public participation in
cleanliness and other development works.
Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar said that National Panchayati Raj
Day is an opportunity to strengthen the roots of our democracy. Panchayats are
the cornerstone of rural development, and the state government is continuously
striving to empower them. Our goal is that every Panchayat becomes transparent,
accountable, and self-reliant, bringing the flow of development to every
village. The Panchayati Raj Department of Uttar Pradesh is continuously
striving to achieve the goal of holistic rural development by empowering the
state's Panchayats.
