Amritsar, April 16 (H.S.): In a major operation, the Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police, along with teams of the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), has busted a suspected cross-border linked module. The joint operation was carried out by SSOC Amritsar and SSOC Mohali, leading to the arrest of one accused and recovers 4 hand grenades and 2 foreign-made pistols along with ammunition..

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested individual was in contact with foreign handlers and was receiving instructions from operatives based abroad. According to police sources, the module may also have links to the recent grenade attack in Chandigarh; however, detailed investigations are still underway to establish this connection.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav shared details on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating that four hand grenades, two foreign-made pistols, and a large quantity of ammunition were recovered from the accused. The seizure is being considered a significant breakthrough, indicating the possible presence of a larger terror network.

An FIR has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell police station in Amritsar. Police teams are now working to identify, trace, and apprehend other individuals linked to the network.
