Jammu, 16 April (H.S.): Workers of Hindustan Pencils Pvt Ltd (Natraj Pencils) here today staged a protest demonstration in front of the factory gate against the alleged illegal closure of the factory without following Labour Laws.

The protesters claimed that as neither permission was obtained by the management nor any intimation was given to the workers in this regard.

Harbans Choudhary, senior BMS leader alleged that the fire incident in the factory was a conspiracy by the management to get insurance claim on one hand and to get rid of the workers on the name of closure.

Ashok Choudhary alleged that officials of the insurance company without verifying the facts and reasons of fire passed the claim of the company as no enquiry was conducted from those who were working on the spot.

Mahinder Lal, president of Hindustan Pencils Workers Union appealed to the Labour Minister to intervene and take stern action against the factory management for illegal closure of the factory in violation of Labour Laws.
