
Bhubaneswar, 16 April (H.S.): Amid rising temperatures in Odisha, the state government is likely to take a decision on summer vacations in schools soon. School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond stated that the final decision will be based on reports submitted by district collectors.
The Minister clarified that districts experiencing severe heatwave conditions will be assessed individually, and decisions regarding school closures or holidays will be taken accordingly. He emphasized that ensuring the safety and well-being of students remains the government’s top priority.
He further noted that parts of western Odisha are currently witnessing intense heat, which is being closely monitored. Authorities are evaluating the situation and considering appropriate measures to address the extreme weather conditions.
The Minister also informed that a final decision on summer vacations will be taken only after a detailed review of the heatwave situation by the State Relief Commissioner (SRC).
