Amritsar, April 16 (H.S.): In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Lopoke police station carried out a special search operation and recovered 1.08 kg of heroin along with a drone. According to police officials, the drone was being used to transport narcotics from across the border, indicating the evolving tactics adopted by smugglers.

Acting on specific inputs regarding suspicious activity in the area, a police team promptly launched a search operation. During the operation, officers successfully seized a significant quantity of heroin along with the drone from the spot. This recovery is being considered a major success in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in Punjab.

Police authorities stated that strict action is being taken against drug trafficking across the state. In view of the recent rise in drone-assisted smuggling cases, surveillance and enforcement measures have been further intensified.

A case has been registered under the relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway. Police are now working to identify the individuals involved and to determine the scale of the smuggling network.
