Thiruvananthapuram, 09 March (H.S.): A fresh controversy has erupted around Kerala Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar after his wife Bindu Menon alleged that she found the minister in a “compromising situation” at his residence in Valakom and claimed that she possesses photographic evidence of the incident.
Speaking to the media, Bindu Menon said she had visited the Valakom house unexpectedly on Saturday without informing anyone. According to her, when she entered the house she first saw the minister’s driver, identified as Shantan, and then went into the bedroom where she allegedly witnessed what she described as a very inappropriate situation.
She claimed that when she attempted to take photographs of what she saw, the driver tried to stop her and allegedly attempted to seize her mobile phone. “When I tried to capture evidence, the minister instructed Shantan to grab my phone. He tried to snatch it, but I refused to hand it over,” she said, adding that she has photographs and other evidence in her possession.
Bindu Menon further alleged that she immediately contacted her relative, BJP councillor R. Sreelakha, who advised her to call the police helpline number 112. She said the police arrived at the location but did not intervene in the matter. According to her, the police initially asked whether she was “Yamini Thankachi,” to which she responded that her name was Bindu.
She also claimed that before the police arrived, the woman who was allegedly present with the minister was hurriedly taken away in a car by the driver, while the minister went inside the house and closed the door.
Recalling her marital history, Bindu Menon said that problems had existed between the couple since their marriage in 2014. She alleged that similar disputes had arisen earlier over the names of other women and claimed that the minister had monitored her phone calls and movements, accusing her of having relationships with several people.
Bindu Menon also alleged that a staff member of the minister later apologised to her and requested that she not take any action against him. Despite the incident, she said she currently has no intention of pursuing legal action.
She added that she had informed the Chief Minister’s daughter about the matter earlier but decided to speak publicly only after the minister made statements against her in the media.
