
Bhubaneswar, 09 March (H.S.) : Senior journalist Ashutosh Mishra passed away on Monday after suffering a heart attack, triggering an outpouring of grief across the journalistic community in Odisha.
Mishra’s sudden demise has been widely mourned by political leaders, media peers, and public figures for his significant contributions to journalism in the state.
Expressing his condolences, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi described Mishra’s death as an “irreparable loss” to the field of journalism in Odisha. In a message posted on social media platform X, the Chief Minister extended sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of senior journalist Ashutosh Mishra. His demise is an irreplaceable loss to the world of journalism in Odisha. While conveying condolences to the bereaved family members, I pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for the peaceful departure of the departed soul. Om Shanti,” CM Majhi wrote.
Leader of the Opposition Naveen Patnaik also expressed sorrow over Mishra’s death and paid tribute to his long and impactful career in journalism. In his message on X, Patnaik said Mishra’s contributions would remain memorable and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family.
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Odisha’s senior journalist Ashutosh Mishra. His contributions throughout his long career in journalism will always remain memorable. Along with praying for the eternal peace of his immortal soul, I convey my condolences to his bereaved family,” Patnaik wrote.
