March (HS): A 40-year-old man was slain and his brother critically injured in a
dispute between two groups over the establishment of a vegetable shop in Reoti
town here, police reported on Monday. The event occurred on Sunday night, near
Reoti's seed storage.
During the
incident, members of the opposing factions reportedly assaulted each other with
clubs and iron rods, seriously injuring Dhanji Turha (40) and his brother
Bhulan Turha, officials claimed. Mohammad Faheem Qureshi, Deputy Superintendent
of Police (Bairia), stated that the injured were immediately sent to a local
government hospital, where doctors proclaimed Dhanji Turha dead. He added the
body had been submitted for a postmortem investigation.
According
to the officer, a case has been filed against Sunil Turha, his mother Meena
Devi, Aman Sahni, and Kudurni Devi under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya
Nyaya Sanhita in response to Bhulan Turha's allegation. Some anonymous
individuals have also been listed as charged in the case. Qureshi stated that
efforts are being made to apprehend the offenders.
