Kartavya Path Hosts Empowering Shakti Walk

New Delhi, 08 March (H.S.): Kartavya Path transformed into a vibrant testament to women's strength on Sunday as a sea of Nari Shakti converged for the Shakti Walk organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development to mark International Women’s Day.

Led by Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi, the event saw participation from women across diverse sectors, with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Minister of State Savitri Thakur, Anupriya Patel, and National Commission for Women Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar joining the procession from India Gate to Vijay Chowk.

Minister Devi congratulated all participants, lauding India’s women for setting new benchmarks in defense, science, sports, entrepreneurship, and governance. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, she highlighted initiatives ensuring opportunities that empower women to lead nation-building with confidence, affirming that Viksit Bharat’s women form its foundational pillar.

Chief Minister Gupta echoed that International Women’s Day celebrates the resolve for Nari Shakti empowerment, with the walk aimed at honoring achievements, inspiring progress, and reinforcing that national advancement accelerates when women lead—from armed forces and police to healthcare, sports, administration, and grassroots efforts.
