New Delhi, 08 March (H.S.): BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh condemned West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress party for undermining the prestige of the President's office, labeling it a deplorable and reprehensible affront to India's supreme constitutional institution.
In a press statement Sunday, Chugh asserted that the episode transcends a mere slight on a constitutional figurehead, constituting a direct assault on the dignity of the nation's entire Adivasi community. He accused Banerjee's administration of mounting attacks on democratic institutions amid mounting panic and political desperation, disregarding the apolitical sanctity of the presidency—which he deemed an insult not only to the office but to Adivasis and daughters nationwide.
Chugh highlighted a pattern: campaigns against the Chief Election Commissioner, opposition to Lord Ram and Sanatan Dharma, denigration of the Indian Army's valor, and now this incident, underscoring Banerjee's disregard for constitutional decorum. Bengal's populace, he warned, perceives this divisive, anarchic politics destabilizing the state and eroding democratic pillars, poised to deliver a resounding democratic rebuke in due course.
