Bhubaneswar, 08 March (H.S.) : The ongoing “Nyaya Samhita Exhibition” at exhibition ground in Bhubaneswar is using street theatre to raise public awareness about India’s new criminal law, making legal provisions accessible and engaging for ordinary citizens. Through live performances, the exhibition vividly demonstrates the new criminal law’s key aspects, including victims’ rights, scientific investigation procedures, and mechanisms for speedy justice.
Artists have brought the justice system alive on stage in an educational and captivating format, showcasing the journey “From Crime Scene to High Court.” The exhibition, approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs, features 10 thematic stalls covering critical aspects of the legal process: crime scenes, emergency 112 assistance, police procedures, hospital coordination, forensic laboratories, public prosecution, district courts, prison systems, and the functioning of the High Court.
By portraying the complete sequence from the occurrence of a crime to police investigation and judicial proceedings the street play enables audiences to understand the practical relevance of the new law with ease. The initiative has generated significant interest among visitors, including students and the general public.
Odisha Police officials noted that such awareness programs help familiarize citizens with the criminal justice system while emphasizing the importance of legal compliance. The exhibition and street play together are proving to be an effective educational tool, ensuring that the new criminal law reaches communities in an accessible and engaging manner
