
Maharajganj, 08 March (HS): On
Sunday, a 45-year-old dad reportedly killed his two children before committing suicide
in a leased residence in the Gandhinagar region, according to officials.
According to the police, Amresh Kumar, a native of Saitpur village in Ghazipur
district, was the spouse of a female policeman from the 66th Battalion of
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) stationed at Domuhan Ghat. Kumar, who lived with his
wife and two children, reportedly killed his 4-year-old daughter Kanchan and
3-year-old son Amarendra Kumar before hanging himself from a ceiling fan in the
room, police said. After obtaining information regarding the event, SSB
Commandant Ankur Kumar Gautam, SHO Purushottam Rao, and other SSB officers went
to the scene.
The
girl's body was found hanging from a grill in the room, while the boy's was
discovered on the floor, according to officials. Nautanwa Circle Officer Ankur
Kumar Gautam stated that the father looks to have slain the children before
committing suicide. A forensic
team has collected evidence from the scene, and the bodies have been
transported for post-mortem examination, he stated. The police are also
gathering information on the deceased's wife and interrogating neighbours to
determine the motivation for the extraordinary action, according to the officer.
