March (HS): Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel extended her heartfelt
greetings and congratulations to all women at the International Women's Day
event held at Jan Bhavan on Sunday. On this occasion, women from various
districts of the state who have achieved outstanding work in various fields
were honoured with certificates.
The
program featured 200 women who have made significant contributions in various
fields, including police, military, administration, education, village heads,
agricultural production organizations, state child protection homes, social
service, and women involved in various enterprises. They shared their ventures,
technologies, and innovations. Women who have started various businesses and
innovations under the Chief Minister's Youth Entrepreneur Scheme
enthusiastically shared their experiences.
The Governor
praised the women present at the event and encouraged them to become empowered,
self-reliant, and take on leadership roles. She said that women play a vital
role in the development of society and the nation, and that their strength and
determination are the foundation of the country's progress.
The
Governor said that women entrepreneurs, academics, and officials from various
fields should work together and coordinate with universities to advance their
work. She highlighted the importance of the HPV vaccine for preventing cervical
cancer and emphasized the importance of women's health awareness. She urged all
women to work together to effectively implement the government's various public
welfare schemes.
On this
occasion, she praised the work of the women of the Green Army of Varanasi,
Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts, saying that they collect old clothes, clean,
cut and sew them to make new clothes and also make slippers. She told that
slippers made by these women were also presented to the Prime Minister. The
Governor said that efforts should be made to provide workshops at the district
level for women working in various fields, so that their enterprises can get
further encouragement.
Referring
to the women and children from state-run girls' homes, the Governor said that
girls there are trained in education, hygiene, cooking, sewing, and other
skills. She said that efforts should be made to connect all girls' homes in the
state with society so that these girls can get better opportunities. Praising
women, she said that along with their various responsibilities, women also
manage their families efficiently. She stressed the need to develop positive
thinking in the new generation and create an environment of good values in
the family.
Addressing
the women village heads present at the programme, she said that as village
heads they should discharge their responsibilities effectively, pay special
attention to the education of children in the villages and take forward the
works of social welfare by making proper use of the funds received by the
Panchayat. Addressing the women associated with agricultural production
organisations, the Governor said that locally manufactured products should be
branded, they should be given better training and exhibitions of their products
should be organised.
