
Bhubaneswar, 04 March (H.S.): The Commissionerate Police of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack has announced traffic restrictions in Bhubaneswar on March 5 and 6, 2026, in view of the visit of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah to Odisha. The Minister is scheduled to attend various programmes in the city during his two-day visit.
The restrictions have been imposed to ensure the security of the dignitary and to facilitate smooth regulation and free flow of traffic in the interest of the general public. The order has been issued under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003 (Odisha Act 8 of 2007), and in pursuance of Regulation 36 of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulation, 2008.
On March 5, 2026 (Thursday), vehicular movement will be restricted from 8:00 pm to 8:45 pm at Airport Square, Hospital Square, AG Square (left turn), Lok Bhavan Square (right turn), Power House Square, 120 Battalion Square, Shastri Nagar Square, Behera Sahi Square, Jaydev Vihar Square and XIMB Square. On March 6, 2026 (Friday), restrictions will be in force from 9:45 am to 10:35 am at Jaydev Vihar Square, XIMB Square, Nalco Square, Damana Square, Patia Square, KIIT Square, Nandankanan Square, Baranga Golel (right turn), Puri Canal (left turn), Godisahi Canal Chhak (left turn) and CISF KRTC, Mundali, Cuttack. Further restrictions will apply from 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm at Airport Square, Hospital Square, AG Square, PMG Square, Rabindra Mandap Square, Housing Board Square (right turn) and Ram Mandir Square. From 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm, restrictions will also be imposed at Ram Mandir Square, Housing Board Square (left turn), Rabindra Mandap Square, PMG Square, AG Square, Hospital Square and Airport Square. During the notified hours, no vehicles will be allowed to ply on the specified roads or enter from connecting lanes and by-lanes. However, emergency services, including fire tenders and ambulances, will be exempted from the restrictions.
