
Guwahati, 28 March (HS): Assam Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president and Member of Parliament Dilip Saikia has suspended nine party workers from the primary membership of the party for six years over their involvement in anti-party activities.
According to an official order signed by State General Secretary Anup Barman, the action has been taken in view of the Assam Legislative Assembly Elections 2026. The order stated that workers who contested against officially nominated BJP candidates have been suspended under Article XXV-9 of the party constitution with immediate effect, pending further orders.
The suspended BJP workers include Uddhav Das from Barpeta constituency, Jayanta Kumar Das from Dispur, Jitendrajit Gaur from Kaliabor, Amarendu Das from Barkhola, Dhanjit Rabha from Goalpara West, Chakradhar Das from Bongaigaon, Gagan Chandra Haloi from Barpeta, Ankul Das from Kamalpur and Yashoda Dulal (Shyamal) Rakshit from Lumding constituency.------------
