Jammu, 28 March (H.S.): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and MLA Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman Para on Saturday raised concerns over security arrangements for political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir, alleging selective action by the government.
Speaking in the Assembly, Para said that attempts to evict former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti from her residence were unjustified, asserting that security remains a non-negotiable necessity in J&K. He termed such actions as serious and called for a consistent approach towards safeguarding political leaders.
He also condemned the recent attack on National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and stressed that when elected representatives are engaged in public service, their security cannot be compromised.
Para further questioned the government over issuing a notice to Sajad Lone to vacate his accommodation and downgrading the security of Tariq Hameed Karra, asking the Chief Minister to clarify the rationale behind such decisions.
