Mumbai, 28 Mar

(HS): Following resignation as Chief of Maharashtra Women’s Commission for

alleged involvement in Ashok Kharat case of series of frauds and sexual

exploitation of women, Rupali Chakankar has tendered her resignation as Regional

President of Nationlist Congres Party’s Women’s Wing.

Chakankar was

under pressure after her several videos with Ashok Kharat went viral. The

demand of her resignation was being raised at various levels, as her presence

is affecting NCP’s (Ajit Pawar) image.

Chakankar posted

a one-liner resignation from the party’s Women Wing Regional President. She has

stated that on the first day she had demanded transparent enquiry into the

Kharat case and had cleared her position in the case. She stated that she is

not at all connected with his (Kharat’s) illegal and immoral activities.
